“The Transborder Coalition for Border Ministries is a network of faith based organizations across the United States committed to assisting people on the move along the southern California/Mexican Border.”

About us
Purpose:
Assist people on the move at the Southern California-Mexico border by providing financial assistance, personnel and consultation services to existing and emerging ministries serving the migrant community in partnership with the Collaborative for Border Ministries
Our Goals:
The Transborder Coalition for Border Ministries seeks to:
-
Ensure access to basic needs of food, shelter, clothing, and support services and pastoral care;
-
Provide programs enabling victims of human and civil rights violations access to legal services;
-
Maintain a strategic planning process by which individual ministries and the Collaborative itself fosters the effective use of resources.
In partnership with the Collaborative for Border Ministries we:
- Facilitate the recruitment and placement of volunteers for border ministries and serve as advocates for migrants.
-
Foster the education of the faith community about the border crisis and the gospel mandate to welcome the stranger.
-
Garner support for ministries alleviating the suffering of people on the move.
Beginnings:
In March of 2024, a meeting of leadership from some fifteen congregations initiated a fund-raising effort to immediately assist ministries providing shelter and set in motion a longer-term goal of establishing a tax-exempt organization that would sustain this effort of assisting border ministries. The Transborder Coalition for Border Ministries was founded and became an official 501 (c) (3) tax exempt organization.
Our Members

Partnership with the Collaborative for Border Ministries
The local Collaborative for Border Ministries identifies immediate and emerging needs of the migrant community through ad hoc local working groups and prioritizes these needs. The Collaborative for Border Ministries recommends programs for support to the Strategic Planning Committee of the Transborder Coalition Board.
The Strategic Planning Committee, composed of Transborder Coalition members and Collaborative for Border Ministries members, considers, evaluates, amends proposals and recommends programs needing support to the Resources for Ministry Committee of the Transborder Coalition Board.
The Resources for Ministry Committee of The Transborder Coalition Board secures financial assistance and volunteer personnel from members, foundations, and donors. This committee is responsible for all stewardship related to fundraising.
Upon recommendation of the Strategic Planning and Resources for Ministry Committees, the Board of Directors of the Transborder Coalition approves grants to existing border ministries
